Using Audacity (Public Meetings Recorder)
Summary
Audacity is a free, open-source audio editing and recording software that offers powerful tools for creating, editing, and enhancing sound files across multiple platforms.
Body
Open Audacity from the desktop.
If this is your first time opening Audacity, check "Don't show this again at start up" and close the dialog box.
Click the red button to begin recording.
Click the pause button during breaks. To resume, click pause a second time.
Once the meeting is over, click stop.
Go to "File" in the menu bar, then click "Export Audio".
If this is your first time using Audacity, you'll have to select "Don't show again", then "Export to Computer". If you've done that before, skip this step.
Change the file name to "your-board-name-today's-date", e.g. "Planning-12-4-2021". Then, change the Format to "MP3 Files". Click "Export" and wait for it to finish.
Once the file is exported, find it in Documents -> Audacity. Move it to a shared drive or home drive for use later. Now you can close Audacity. Choose "No" if you are asked to save the project.
