Steps to Change Your Password
- Navigate to aka.ms/passwordreset.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your identity.
- Create a new password that meets the Borough’s policy:
- Minimum of 15 characters.
- Include uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
- Submit the new password and confirm the change.
- Update your password on all Borough-issued mobile devices:
- Open Settings on your device.
- Update the password under account or email settings.
Password Policy Details
- Passwords must be at least 15 characters long.
- Recommended complexity includes:
- Uppercase letters (e.g., A, B, C)
- Lowercase letters (e.g., a, b, c)
- Numbers (e.g., 1, 2, 3)
- Special characters (e.g., #, $, %)
- Passwords expire every 365 days.
- Each new password must be unique.
Important Information
- Accounts lock after 5 incorrect password attempts.
- You must wait 24 hours before changing your password again.
- Failure to log in to a Borough computer within 60 days may result in account disablement (with limited exceptions).
Password Expiration Prompt
When your password is about to expire, a notification will appear in the lower-right corner of your screen during login. Change your password promptly when prompted to maintain security and compliance.
