Security Best Practices
Exercise Extreme Caution
- Quarantined emails failed one or more security checks.
- Treat them as potentially harmful until verified.
Security Hygiene
- Avoid clicking links or downloading attachments unless you’re confident in the sender’s legitimacy.
SPF/DKIM/DMARC Failures
- If an email is blocked due to SPF/DKIM/DMARC:
- Open a ticket with IT prior to forwarding.
- IT will coordinate with the vendor to resolve the issue.
Password-Protected PDFs
- These are flagged because Barracuda cannot scan them.
- Only open if you trust the sender and content.
- Alternatively use OneDrive to share protected files—it scans for malicious content.
