Adding Text To The Beginning or End of Multiple Record Titles

ADDING TEXT TO THE BEGINNING OR END OF RECORD TITLES

There may be times when you need to add the same text to the beginning of several record titles (prepend the titles), or to the end of the titles (append the titles).

 To Update Metadata

1.       In Content Manager, tag the records that need to have the text added to the beginning and/or the end of the existing titles. (The records could be documents, subfolders, folders, etc., or a combination of these - as long as they all need the same text added to the title.)

a.       For this example, assume we want to add “Accounting - to the beginning of the titles below. And we want to add “ – 2021” to the end of the titles.

2.       Right-click, and select Details, and then Title. The “Change Title” window appears:

3.       Check the box to indicate “Change Free Text”.

4.       Enter the desired text in the “prepend” and/or “append” fields. (The screenshot above shows the appropriate entries for the example summarized in 1a above.)

5.       Click OK. This results in updated record titles for this example as shown below:
