RECYCLE BIN: REMOVING EMPTY CONTAINERS FROM CM
This procedure is used to remove empty containers (i.e., boxes, folders, and subfolders) from CM. You MUST remove all documents from the containers before sending containers to the Recycle Bin.
1. Move any documents into the appropriate folder for retention and any non-record documents into your division’s Non-Records/Destroy Folder
NOTE: Records that are Inactive or Archived have been closed and locked down to prevent any changes to the closed record. If you need to remove an Inactive or Archived Record, please enter a Help Desk ticket.
2. Locate any 2nd level folders (subfolders) that will be sent to the recycle bin first. Subfolders must be sent to the recycle bin before the Top Level folder.
3. Select the subfolder you want to send to the recycle bin.
4. Right click and select Send To, and then Recycle Bin
5. Once all 2nd level folders have been sent to the Recycle Bin, you may follow the same process and send the Top Level folder to the Recycle Bin.
