Adobe has introduced a new Acrobat interface that changes the layout and location of tools. Some users may prefer the classic layout due to familiarity or workflow efficiency. This guide provides steps to disable the new Acrobat experience and return to the traditional interface.


Instructions:

Disable the New Acrobat Experience (Windows)

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  2. In the top-left corner, select the Menu (☰) icon.
  3. Select Disable New Acrobat from the menu.
  4. When prompted, select Restart.
  5. Acrobat will relaunch using the classic interface.

Disable the New Acrobat Experience (macOS)

  1. Open Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  2. On the top menu bar, select View.
  3. Select Disable New Acrobat.
  4. When prompted, select Restart.
  5. Acrobat will relaunch using the classic interface.

What to Expect After Disabling

  • The interface will revert to the classic layout with traditional menus and toolbars.
  • Tool locations will return to their previous positions.
  • Any open documents will reopen after the restart. 

Troubleshooting

  • Option not visible:
    • Ensure Acrobat is fully updated.
    • Some organizational deployments may disable this option via policy.
  • Changes did not apply:
    • Close all Acrobat windows and reopen the application manually.
    • Try restarting your computer if the issue persists.

Additional Notes

  • The new Acrobat experience can be re-enabled at any time by selecting Enable New Acrobat from the menu.
  • Disabling the new interface does not remove features—it only changes the layout and navigation.
