Overview
- There are two types of "saving" within hubsites: Saving and Publishing.
- Saving ensures that your work is not lost, but it does not update the site that other viewers will see.
- Publishing updates the front, live view of the website for your viewers
- There are a couple of different view permission settings that you can choose from for your hubsite pages. Please note that this is PER PAGE, listed next to the save drop down.
- You can have an entire hubsite that is visible to the public with one single page that is only visible to you, or a website that everyone in the organization can see with one page visible to the public, and any combination of those.
- Remember that if it is saved and not published, only when anyone goes into the edit mode will they able to see it.

sharing your site with others - FYI
Changing the permissions of who can view the pages is part of the administrator role, and can only be done by the Web or GIS team. You can upgrade or downgrade who can see it at any time. However, please note that if you downgrade a public page to a lesser permission, the users will get a "you do not have permissions to view this page" error if they return.
There are a couple of different view permission settings that you can choose from for your hubsite pages. Please note that this is PER PAGE. You can have an entire hubsite that is visible to the public with one single page that is only visible to you, or a website that everyone in the organization can see with one page visible to the public, and any combination of those. Remember that if it is saved and not published, only when you go into the edit mode will anyone with access be able to see it. Each of these icons will tell you who can see the page once you have published it.
On every page, you can see who can see it by looking here next to the save button.

Icons for who can see the published site:
- Two people - people within the edit group after login
- this setting is useful during build when you need
- A building - anyone within your organization after login
- this setting is useful for internal hubsites, and during build to get feedback from anyone within the organization
- A Globe - public without login
- This setting is for when you are ready for the site to go live.
