Overview:
Requests for computer equipment and peripherals should be initiated by employees with purchasing authority, such as Supervisors or Admin Professionals. This guide outlines the process for requesting and purchasing various types of computer equipment and peripherals, including both quoted and non-quoted items.
Instructions:
Determining whether a request is Areawide or Non-Areawide, as well as whether it is a break/fix or new request, will help streamline the purchasing process. New computers, quoted peripherals, and mobile devices should be requested during the yearly IT budgeting process.
- Non-Areawide Requests:
- Departments are responsible for purchasing non-Areawide items using their own funds.
- IT will provide approval and a quote for purchase.
- Areawide Requests:
- For break/fix situations, items will be replaced from IT inventory.
- For new Areawide requests, consideration of budgeting is necessary:

- If not budgeted for, the Department will need to use their funds to purchase the item.
