Overview:
A file may have been deleted by accident or unknowingly removed.
Instructions:
Backup Frequency and Schedule:
- IT conducts two backups each day of files on the network.
- Backup times occur at 7:00 am and 12:00 pm.
- Users can restore files up to a week old from the backups.
File Restoration Process: To restore a file from a previous version, follow these steps:
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Locate the folder containing the file.
- Right-click within the window and select "Restore Previous Versions."
- Double-click on the folder from which you want to restore.
- Locate the file you wish to restore.
- Copy the file (Ctrl+C) and paste it (Ctrl+V) to your desktop.
- Move the copy to the desired file location.
- This step ensures that permissions are correctly set up for the restored folder/file.
Important Note:
- This restoration process applies only to files stored in a network location.
- Files stored on your C drive are not backed up and cannot be restored using this method.

- Regular backups ensure data integrity and availability in case of accidental deletion or loss.
- Users should regularly save important files to network drives to benefit from the backup system's protection.
