Description of service:
To qualify for leave donations employees must have a critical need for time off from work due to:
- Employee qualifies for Family Medical Leave (FML) due to a serious health issue, as defined under state and federal family medical leave regulations, involving them or a member of their immediate family.
- Employee is in leave without pay status for bereavement leave, due to the death of family member, as defined under Article 29.
Before submitting this request:
All requests should come from an employee's director. If you are the employee requesting a donation, please reach out to your supervisor to approve and route a request through your director.
How we process this request:
Human Resources will send out a leave donation request to all Borough employees upon approval of the Borough Manager.

Additional Information:
Leave donations will only be accepted up to the amount requested, not to exceed forty (40) hours for bereavement leave. All leave time donated to another employee becomes the property of that employee. No reimbursement of leave time will be made to employees who donate their personal leave, unless the amount donated is in excess of the amount requested. Employees donating paid leave time should do so without an expectation of having any of the donated time returned to them.
