Acting Pay - Immediate Assignment (DES ONLY)

Overview:

Description of service:

The Borough may immediately assign an employee to a higher-level position when there is a vacancy or absence that requires an urgent fill due to operational necessity or to prevent a work stoppage.  Employees assigned temporarily must be qualified for the higher role and shall receive at least the rate of the first step of the higher grade or a premium of five percent (5%) of current salary, whichever is greater using a secondary job code.  Should the immediate assignment exceed a period of ten (10) or more consecutive working days, the terms of Section C (Scheduled Assignment) shall apply retroactively to the initial date of assignment.
